DP-900: Azure Data Fundamentals is a one-day course designed specifically for individuals who are new to database and cloud data services using Microsoft Azure. This course is suitable for people who are looking to switch their career into the field of database and data in the cloud or cloud computing. DP-900 training provides foundational-level knowledge on database including relational and non-relational databases, modern data warehouse, big data, and analytics in Azure.

You will learn about the database fundamentals of a cloud environment, cloud data services basics, and cloud data services within Azure. You will be introduced to important data concepts, including relational, nonrelational, big data, and analytics, and you will be given insights on how these are implemented with Azure. You will be introduced to its applicability so that you can deploy a relational database and a nonrelational data store. Plus, you will explore various processing methods for data analytics in Azure, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure HDInsight, and Power BI including its building blocks and how the blocks work.

Overall, this course will prepare you for taking the DP-900 Azure Data Fundamentals certification exam. It will give you the base you need for higher-level role-based certifications including Data Analyst Associate, Azure Data Engineer Associate, or Azure Database Administrator Associate. Entry to the exam is not included. However, you will get a clear overview of the Microsoft certification process, plus you will get lessons and useful information.

This course comprises 9 purposely designed modules that take you on a carefully defined learning journey.

It is an instructor-led course which runs to a fixed schedule, with set start and finish dates. It is driven forward by your instructor and features live sessions that are aired at a set time. You will, however, have time to complete certain activities at your own pace outside of the live sessions.

The materials for each module are accessible from the start of the course and will remain available for the duration of your enrollment. Methods of learning and assessment will include reading material, hands-on labs and online exam questions.

  • Familiarity with basic data-related concepts, such as working with tables of data in a spreadsheet and visualizing data using charts.
