Cloud-native development has become a core approach for building modern, scalable, and resilient applications. This course introduces learners to the processes, methodologies, and technologies used throughout the cloud-native application development lifecycle, from development to deployment and modernization.
You will explore key concepts such as DevOps culture, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), Agile and Scrum practices, and the role of NoSQL databases in cloud environments. The course explains how DevOps practices such as test-driven and behavior-driven development help improve collaboration, code quality, and delivery speed across teams. You will also learn how Agile methods and user stories support iterative development and continuous improvement.
In addition, the course provides hands-on exposure to NoSQL databases using MongoDB and introduces IBM Cloudant, highlighting real-world use cases and deployment scenarios. Through a final project, you will apply your learning by enhancing, deploying, and redeploying a cloud-native application using CI/CD practices, creating a strong portfolio artifact.
This course comprises 4 purposely designed modules that take you on a carefully defined learning journey.
It is a self-paced course, which means it is not run to a fixed schedule with regard to completing modules.It is anticipated that if you work 3-4 hours per week, you will complete the course in 4 weeks. However, as long as the course is completed by the end of your enrollment, you can work at your own pace. And dont worry, youre not alone! You will be encouraged to stay connected with your learning community through the course discussion space.
The materials for each module are accessible from the start of the course and will remain available for the duration of your enrollment. Methods of learning and assessment will include discussion space, videos, reading material, quizzes, hands-on labs, quizzes and final assignment.
Once you have successfully completed the course, you will earn your IBM Certificate.
