    AZ-500: Microsoft Azure Security Technologies is a four-day associate-level course for Azure security engineers looking to implement security controls, maintain an organization's security posture, and identify and remediate security vulnerabilities. The course also includes security for identity and access, platform protection, data and applications, and security operations.

    In this course, you will learn how to implement enterprise governance strategies, Azure Active Directory, Azure Identity Protection, Azure AD Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and Hybrid Identity. You will explore platform protection, including perimeter, network, host, and container security. You will discover how to secure data and applications through Azure Key Vault, application security, storage security, SQL database security, Azure Monitor, Azure Security Center, and Azure Sentinel.

    Overall, this course will help you to prepare for the AZ-500 certification exam. Entry for the exam is not included. However, you will get a clear overview of the Microsoft certification process, plus you will get tips and tricks, testing strategies, practice questions, and useful information to help you pass the exam successfully. Once you have certification, you will be in a strong position to take on a role as part of a larger team to plan and implement cloud-based management and security.

    This course comprises 16 purposely designed modules that take you on a carefully defined learning journey.

    It is an instructor-led course which runs to a fixed schedule, with set start and finish dates. It is driven forward by your instructor and features live sessions that are aired at a set time. You will, however, have time to complete certain activities at your own pace outside of the live sessions.

    The materials for each module are accessible from the start of the course and will remain available for the duration of your enrollment. Methods of learning and assessment will include reading material, hands-on labs, and online exam questions.

    As part of our mentoring service you will have access to valuable guidance and support throughout the course. We provide a dedicated discussion space where you can ask questions, chat with your peers, and resolve issues.

    Once you have successfully completed the course, you will earn your Certificate of Completion.

    Before attending this course, you should:

    • Have experience of security best practices and industry security requirements such as defense, least privileged access, role-based access control, multi-factor authentication, shared responsibility, and the zero trust model.
    • Be familiar with security protocols such as Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Internet Security Protocol (IPSec), Secure Socket Layer (SSL), and disk and data encryption methods. Have some experience of deploying Azure workloads.
    • Have experience of Windows and Linux operating systems and scripting languages.

    • Course labs may use PowerShell and the CLI.

    Please note: This course does not cover the basics of Azure administration, instead the course content builds on that knowledge by adding security specific information.
