DP-060: Migrate NoSQL Workloads to Azure Cosmos DB is a one-day intermediate-level course for database developers. It provides an overview of Cosmos DB and explains how to migrate NoSQL workloads, i.e. MongoDB and Cassandra DB, to Cosmos DB. Professionals enrolling for this DP-060 course should have fundamental knowledge of cloud computing concepts and professional experience in configuring NoSQL applications.

During this course, you will learn how to build globally distributed applications with Cosmos DB. You will explore the architecture of Cosmos DB. You will learn about Cosmos DB APIs, provisioning throughput, and best practices for partitioning/sharding. You will be introduced to the advantages of migration, and will help plan a data and application migration. You will also plan post-migration checks for migrating MongoDB and Cassandra DB workloads to Cosmos DB. Plus, while migrating Cassandra DB workloads, you will gain knowledge of how to export the schema, move data using CQLSH COPY and Spark, and verify migration.

Overall, this course will prepare you for taking the DP-060: Migrate NoSQL Workloads to Azure Cosmos DB certification exam. Entry for the exam is not included. However, you will get a clear overview of the Microsoft certification process, plus you will get tips and tricks, testing strategies, practice questions, and useful information to help you pass the exam successfully.

This course comprises 3 purposely designed modules that take you on a carefully defined learning journey.

It is an instructor-led course which runs to a fixed schedule, with set start and finish dates. It is driven forward by your instructor and features live sessions that are aired at a set time. You will, however, have time to complete certain activities at your own pace outside of the live sessions.

The materials for each module are accessible from the start of the course and will remain available for the duration of your enrollment. Methods of learning and assessment will include reading material, hands-on labs, and online exam questions.

As part of our mentoring service you will have access to valuable guidance and support throughout the course. We provide a dedicated discussion space where you can ask questions, chat with your peers, and resolve issues.

Once you have successfully completed the course, you will earn your Certificate of Completion.

After completing this course, you will be able to:

  • Build globally distributed applications with Cosmos DB.
  • Migrate MongoDB workloads to Cosmos DB.
  • Migrate Cassandra DB workloads to Cosmos DB.

  • Database developers.
  • Data engineers.
  • Database professionals.
