About This Course

Microsoft Teams is a hub for team collaboration that integrates communications, content, and tools for organizations and teams to be more engaged and effective. In this course, you will learn how to empower your business to achieve more than ever before with a shared workspace that enables clearer communication and collaboration in groups of any size.

This course will familiarize the learner with the full functionality and business value of Teams. The course will cover everything you need to skill up fast, from creating and administering teams, using the platform for meetings and chats, to leveraging connectors, apps, and bots. Best of all, you will learn how to make the most of Teams from any device for consistent, quality work from anywhere at any time.

Syllabus

Module 1: Getting Started
In this module, setting up a team will be introduced, focusing on navigating the interface, and creating channel structure.

- Teams applications
- Create and Join a Team
- Work in a General channel
- Create a team structure within channels

Module 2: Conversations, Files and Meetings
In this module, we discuss managing channel and private conversations, storage of and working with files, as well as hosting scheduled and impromptu meetings.

- Manage conversation threads
- How to email a channel
- Navigate private chats
- Create, edit, and work with files in Teams
- OneDrive Files
- Schedule and manage web meetings

Module 3: Settings, Notifications and Search
In this module, we cover important search functionality and tailoring of settings.

- Customize settings and notifications
- Find content with the Search function

Module 4: Channel, Connectors and Bots
This module empowers the learner to customize channels and leverage the full power of Teams by integrating additional applications, connectors, and bots.

- Integrate a OneNote notebook, Planner board, and Power BI report
- Add SharePoint content
- Get survey results and news summaries from Bing
- Get RSS feeds
- Select and set up a bot
- Get Polly bot surveys and insights

Module 5: Managing Teams
This module will cover Teams administration for throughout the project cycle.

- Create a team using a team as a template
- Delete and archive a team
- Navigate Skype and Teams Admin Centre

Module 6: Conclusion and Final Assessment
In this module, learners will complete the final assessment to gauge their knowledge synthesis.

She has authored many Microsoft Office online video series including Instructional Skills, Dynamics 365, OneDrive, OneNote, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams for Lynda.com, LinkedIn Learning, Microsoft, Pluralsight, and ClipTraining.

In 2017, Microsoft honored her with the distinguished award as a Most Valuable Professional (MVP) for the OneNote technology. In 2018 she was re-awarded as an MVP for Office Apps and Services with a focus in SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive, and OneNote.

When she’s not teaching in the virtual or onsite classroom, you can either find her at a technology conference helping others prep for their Microsoft certification exams or looking for turtles below the surface of the ocean.
