You might be at the beginning of your career, wanting to earn a promotion, or simply keen to open up new opportunities. But whatever your situation, strong skills, proven knowledge, and practical experience are a great starting point. The next step is a foot in the door for a job interview with a top employer.
We therefore offer Placement Assurance or Placement Assistance as complimentary services to eligible Learners on specified programs. This Placement Policy outlines the processes and practices that govern various aspects of the Placement Process at SkillUp Online.
This Placement Policy forms part of SkillUp Online's User Terms and Conditions for eligible Learners in India who enroll and complete eligible hybrid learning programs (primarily those included in SkillUp Online’s TechMaster Certificate Program portfolio and as stated on the SkillUp Online website), unless otherwise specified by SkillUp Online.
If you agree to participate in the SkillUp Online Placement Process, you are bound by the terms of this Placement Policy along with SkillUp Online's User Terms and Conditions. We may update our policies periodically and advise you to check for updates on the SkillUp Online website for the latest version.
For the purposes of clarity, please note the following:
- In this policy, the terms "you/You" or "your/Your/Yourself" refer to Learners, while "We," "us/Us," and "our/Our" refer to SkillUp Online.
- The use of a word in the singular form will be understood to also include the plural form, and vice versa.
- The terms "include" and "including" should be interpreted without limitations.
- The words used in capital letters in this policy have meanings that are defined within this policy. However, if a word is used in capital letters in this policy and not defined here, it will have the meaning that is defined in the Terms of Use on the SkillUp Online platform.

- Every Learner is expected to go through the terms of this Placement Policy diligently and follow the instructions carefully.
- This Placement Policy shall remain in effect from April 1, 2022, until it is revoked, amended or withdrawn by SkillUp Online.
TERMINOLOGY DEFINITIONS and IMPORTANT TERMS
- The term "Learner" refers to an individual who is enrolled in a SkillUp Online course or program.
- The term "Alumni" refers to Learners who have completed a program with SkillUp Online and have been granted "Alumni Status". To apply for placement opportunities, an Alumni must be registered on the SkillUp Online Portal. However, being an Alumni does not guarantee a fixed number of placement opportunities, Career Assistance, Career Preparedness, Placement Assistance, Placement Assurance, or participation in the Placement Process managed by SkillUp Online for Learners.
- "Career Assistance" refers to the range of assistance and support activities that SkillUp Online offers to its Learners (excluding Alumni) on eligible programs to help them prepare for their career and provide them with job opportunities with Companies. This encompasses career services, including Career Preparedness and job placement opportunities
- "Career Preparedness" includes career support provided by SkillUp Online to any Learner from the time of enrollment. Following is a non-exhaustive list of activities included in Career Preparedness
- Career counseling (personalized career coaching)
- Industry-standard resume building sessions
- LinkedIn profile creation sessions
- Access to third-party tests
- Industry sessions/webinars from industry leaders to provide clarity on career options
- Networking sessions
- Mock interviews
- "Company" refers to an organization selected by SkillUp Online to participate in Placement Drives for its Learners and Alumni.
- "Placement Assistance" refers to facilitating job opportunities for eligible Learners and Alumni through placement opportunities listed on the SkillUp Online platform or special Placement Drives arranged by SkillUp Online. Career Preparedness/Career Assistance or Placement Process support will not be provided to Alumni under the Placement Assistance. SkillUp Online may provide reasonable support to both Learners and Alumni at its discretion.
- "Placement Assurance" means facilitating job opportunities and providing Career Assistance and Career Preparedness to eligible Learners based on this Policy’s eligibility criteria. Placement Assurance is exclusively available to SkillUp Online Learners who have enrolled for eligible hybrid learning programs, as stated on the SkillUp Online website, and received Career Preparedness and Career Assistance from SkillUp Online in their placement preparation process. Under this Placement Policy, SkillUp Online offers a specific number of placement opportunities to eligible Learners. If a Learner fails to secure a job opportunity during Placement Drives, SkillUp Online provides 2-3 months of boot camps or refresher courses to help them obtain a suitable placement. It is mandatory for unplaced Learners to participate in these sessions to take advantage of additional placement opportunities. If, despite completing the boot camps or refresher courses and participating in the Placement Drives, a Learner remains unplaced, then SkillUp Online will not be able to guarantee placement for that Learner.
- "Placement Drive" is an event where interested Companies with career opportunities participate to place SkillUp Online Learners and Alumni.
- "The Placement Process" is an end-to-end process where SkillUp Online and the Learner coordinate from registration for Placement Assistance to arranging job interviews
- "Pre-Placement Offer" refers to any offer made by a company to our Learners undergoing a capstone or regular internship through SkillUp Online.
PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITIES
SkillUp Online guarantees a minimum number of placement opportunities to each eligible Learner under Placement Assurance, as follows:
- 3 placement opportunities for an eligible program that is less than 6 months long.
- 6 placement opportunities for an eligible program that is 6 months long or more.
Unless otherwise specified in this Placement Policy, all job opportunities arranged by SkillUp Online will be considered as part of the minimum commitment of placement opportunities mentioned above, and Learners are expected to apply for all applicable opportunities communicated by SkillUp Online from time to time without any conditions related to location, cost to the company (CTC), or any other constraints.
DISPUTES
Any grievances, disagreements, or allegations regarding this Policy will be resolved by the Lead of Career Services at SkillUp Online. The decision made by the Lead will be conclusive and binding. The contact email address to raise a dispute is [email protected].
The courts of Delhi only shall have jurisdiction for the matters pertaining to or emanating from this Placement Policy.
ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS FOR PLACEMENT ASSURANCE
To be eligible for Placement Assurance, a Learner must fulfill the following criteria:
- A Learner must have fulfilled the conditions and obligations with respect to the Terms and Conditions for availing the services of SkillUp Online.
- A Learner must have attended at least 80% of live faculty/industry/mentored sessions as well as mentor-guided lab sessions.
- A Learner must have obtained a minimum of 70% passing grades in all the learning modules taught at SkillUp Online or in collaboration with SkillUp Online partner institutes as defined in the eligible program.
- A Learner must have completed all projects and the final capstone project in a program and submitted their reports.
- If a Learner engages in plagiarism, proctoring violation, or any form of misconduct during a test, they will receive a warning from the SkillUp Online team. If the Learner repeats such behaviour, they will be barred from participating in any Placement Assistance and Placement Assurance activities.
- A Learner must have satisfactorily addressed the areas of development as advised by the SkillUp Online team. Additionally, the Learner must not have any record of disciplinary or code of conduct issues during any program and must meet SkillUp Online's eligibility criteria for placement, as determined solely by SkillUp Online.
- After a Learner has been selected by a company in any Placement Drive conducted by SkillUp Online, they must wait for a cooling-off period of at least three (3) months before participating in any further Placement Drives. During this period, SkillUp Online will not provide any additional placement opportunities to the Learner, even if the opportunities offered are for higher compensation.
- If a Learner gets selected for any of the Companies during the Placement Drive, then they will have to join the Company. If a Learner refuses to join the Company, then Placement Assurance shall be deemed to be cancelled for the Learner.
- If a Learner gets selected for any of the Companies during the Placement Drive in a different city or country, and the Learner refuses to join the Company, then Placement Assurance shall be deemed to be cancelled for the Learner.
CAPSTONE PROJECTS/INTERNSHIPS/APPRENTICESHIPS
SkillUp Online will offer programs that include capstone projects, internships, or apprenticeships to eligible Learners based on their eligibility. The decision of SkillUp Online in this regard will be final and binding, and Learners acknowledge that they cannot request a change of the assigned capstone project, internship, or apprenticeship.
THE PLACEMENT PROCESS - REGISTRATION AND OTHER TERMS
- Registration: To be a part of the Placement Drives, Learners need to complete the registration form provided by SkillUp Online and submit a request for enrollment in the Placement Process within the stipulated time frame as specified by us.
- Placement Drive: During the Placement Process, SkillUp Online will organize Placement Drives where one or more companies may participate to select suitable candidates for their job openings. If a Learner is eligible to participate in any Placement Drive, it is the Learner's responsibility to carefully review the Job Description provided by the participating Company(ies) which outlines all the details about the role. The Learner must accurately and truthfully fill out any required forms. If SkillUp Online or the Company finds any incorrect or deficient information, the Learner's candidature may be rejected
- Selection of Companies: SkillUp Online reserves the right to select the Companies that will be invited to participate in the Placement Drive(s).
- Placement opportunity: If a Learner is eligible for a placement opportunity, they must apply for all opportunities listed without any location or CTC preferences. If a placement opportunity is offered in the same domain as the Learner's expertise area, and the CTC is lower than their expectations, the opportunity will still count towards the minimum number of opportunities committed to by SkillUp Online. However, if the opportunity is offered in a different domain, the Learner may reject it without it counting towards the minimum number of opportunities committed to by SkillUp Online.
- Selection Process: The selection process for each Company may include one or more of the following:
- Online tests/assessments
- Telephone interviews
- Group discussions
- Technical/functional interviews
- Managerial/behavioural interviews
- Case study discussions
- ssessment centres
- Face-to-face interviews
- Notification: SkillUp Online shall inform a Learner in advance about the selection process for each Company, and the Learner is required to participate fully in the process as listed by the Company. Failure to comply may result in the Learner's exclusion from further Placement Drives without any liability on SkillUp Online.
- Hybrid Recruitment: The selection process for each Company may involve a mix of online and offline steps, which may require a Learner to be physically present at the location provided by the Company or participate virtually for part of the process. The exact details of the selection process will be communicated to the Learner in advance, and the Learner is expected to fully participate in all the steps as listed by the Company.
- Non-Appearance: SkillUp Online reserves the right to withdraw sanction or permit any Learner to participate in the Placement Drives if the Learner demonstrates a genuine reason for non-appearance.
JOB OFFERS
- The following shall be treated as job offers:
- a) Any formal communication from a Company to the Learner regarding the offer of employment, including the CTC, job title, location, and joining date.
- b) Any formal communication from the Company to SkillUp Online, who will then communicate the details of the offer to the Learner.
- Offer Acceptance: The Learner must confirm acceptance of the offer within the time specified by the Company or SkillUp Online. Any job offer acceptance must be communicated by the Learner along with their offer letter (whether they have been placed by SkillUp Online or independently) at the email ID: [email protected] within 48 hours from the date of receiving offer communication. Learners must notify SkillUp Online within 48 hours of joining the Company with details of the name of the Company they have joined.
- If any Company requires a Learner to submit original mark sheets, documents, deposits, bank guarantee, copy of passport, etc. while joining, the Learner must make a decision on their own to submit the requested documents and SkillUp Online will not be involved or take any responsibility for the same.
- Offer Rejection: If a Learner opts to reject a job offer made by any Company to the Learner through SkillUp Online's Placement Drives, the Learner needs to advise us in writing at [email protected] within 48 hours from the date of receiving an offer. If a Learner chooses to reject a job offer made through SkillUp Online's Placement Drives, SkillUp Online will review the rejection request and may disallow/suspend the Learner's right to participate in any of SkillUp Online's subsequent Placement Drives until a decision has been made by SkillUp Online. Additionally, a Learner's Alumni status with SkillUp Online may be revoked if they fail to join a Company after accepting an offer arranged through SkillUp Online's Placement Drives.
- Before participating in any Placement Drive of a Company, it is the Learner's responsibility to check the credentials of the Company to avoid any future problems, such as fraudulent Companies or unhealthy work environments.
- SkillUp Online shall be entitled to decline Placement Assistance or Placement Assurance to a Learner for reasons which SkillUp Online in its sole discretion deems proper.
DEBARMENT FROM PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE, PLACEMENT ASSURANCE, AND THE PLACEMENT PROCESS
These are the prohibited acts for Learners participating in the Placement Process:
- Indulging in misconduct or misbehaviour with a Company or SkillUp Online staff, employees, or representatives.
- Registering for a Placement Drive and subsequently being absent from the process.
- Abruptly aborting from the Placement Process.
- Concealing information regarding a job/offer from SkillUp Online.
- Communicating directly with Companies participating in the Placement Drive, unless otherwise agreed with SkillUp Online.
- Disobeying any instructions issued by SkillUp Online regarding the Placement Process.
- Indulging in plagiarism during a program/Placement Drive.
- Resorting to unethical means.
- Presenting false or misleading information to SkillUp Online or the Company.
- Accepting an offer and then rejecting/surrendering it or failing to join.
- Indulging in any acts prohibited under applicable laws.
- Indulging in any criminal act or wrongdoing.
- Spreading or causing to spread disharmony, discontent, or anti-national sentiments.
- Being found indulging in any acts or omissions, which in the reasonable opinion of SkillUp Online is unacceptable.
SkillUp Online reserves the right to suspend a Learner's participation in the Placement Process upon receiving any notice of wrongdoing against them from a government investigation body, court, or other authority. However, if the Learner is found to be innocent after an inquiry, the suspension or debarment will be revoked, and the Learner will be notified.
REFUND/REIMBURSEMENT OF FEE
If a Learner is debarred from Placement Assistance or Placement Assurance or fails to appear for a Placement Drive or does not meet the eligibility conditions, they will not be entitled to claim any refund or reimbursement of any fee paid towards the program. It's essential for Learners to understand and comply with this Placement Policy to avoid any inconvenience or financial loss.
COMMUNICATIONS
It is important for Learners to maintain accurate and up-to-date contact details. Learners must maintain the same email address they used to register on the SkillUp Online website. However, if Learners change their contact telephone number, they must advise SkillUp Online to ensure effective communication with SkillUp Online is maintained and avoid any loss of communication.
If a Learner needs to update their telephone details, they should promptly notify SkillUp Online by writing to [email protected].
Additionally, in case a Learner does not wish to participate in the Placement Process, it is important to notify SkillUp Online by emailing [email protected]. If the Learner fails to do so, SkillUp Online may send related communication without incurring any liability.
DISCLAIMERS
It is important for Learners to understand that while SkillUp Online is providing assistance in terms of career opportunities, the ultimate decision regarding job offers and salary packages depends on the performance of the Learner and their ability to meet the requirements of the Companies they are applying to.
It is also important for Learners to understand that SkillUp Online does not provide any job guarantees or promise of placement upon completion of any program, and any claims regarding job offers or placement cannot be entertained if a Learner is unable to secure a job after participating in SkillUp Online's Placement Drives.
Finally, it is the responsibility of the Learner to verify the credentials of the Companies participating in SkillUp Online's Placement Drives, as SkillUp Online does not guarantee any fitness for the work environment or best employer status of these Companies.
