This programme features a structured learning path that combines virtual, live, instructor-led sessions with self-paced online modules. The curriculum emphasises practical learning through hands-on exercises and a final project, providing a comprehensive learning experience. By the end of the programme, participants will apply their acquired knowledge to a real-world project, solidifying their skills and enhancing their professional portfolios. Upon successful completion, participants will earn valuable credentials, including a globally recognised Digital Credential verified by Credly, an IBM SkillsBuild Completion Certificate, and an IBM SkillsBuild and SkillUp Online Completion Certificate, providing a solid foundation to embark on a career in cybersecurity. This programme is designed to help you acquire essential cyber skills, which can be showcased on your CV, social media platforms, and LinkedIn profile, enhancing your professional visibility and career prospects.

10-week Cybersecurity Project–Based Learning Programme outline

• 8 weeks training and 2 weeks final project

The programme provides a structured learning path through self-paced modules covering essential skills in cybersecurity. The key focus areas include cybersecurity concepts, such as cyber threats and cyberattacks, and careers in cybersecurity. Additionally, you will learn about Fortinet Certified Fundamentals (FCF), which includes an introduction to the threat landscape, getting started in cybersecurity, a technical introduction to cybersecurity, and Fortinet Certified Associate (FCA).

Upon completion of the programme, you’ll receive a globally recognised Digital Credential verified by Credly, an IBM SkillsBuild Completion Certificate, and an IBM SkillsBuild and SkillUp Online Certificate. IBM SkillsBuild Digital Credentials can be added to learners’ LinkedIn profiles and shared with their network, highlighting professional development. These credentials are portable, verifiable, traceable to the skills acquired and help learners stand out to potential employers.

Learner Journey

1. Registration: Only SkillsBuild’s partner network learners are eligible to take part in this programme. Please contact your organisation for the registration link. You can find further guidance on the registration process here.
2. Orientation session: To qualify for this programme, you must participate in the orientation session. The link to the orientation session will be shared with you after you enroll in the programme.
3. Invitation to the course learning plan and online webinars: After your orientation session participation is recorded, you'll be invited to attend four technical instructor-led sessions and engage in self-paced online modules.
4. Self-paced learning: You will have time to complete all self-paced learning after the orientation session until the closing ceremony day. All the learning resources included in the learning plan (self-paced learning, webinar presentations and instructor-led sessions recordings) will be available to all the participants for 2 weeks after the closing ceremony.
5. Attendance in all instructor-led webinars: Attendance in all instructor-led webinars is obligatory to obtain certificates. You are able to attend a webinar, you can watch the recording later and mark it complete in the learning plan.
6. Final project completion: The programme concludes with a final project, where you will apply your newly learned cybersecurity skills to a real-world problem. You need to complete the final project to obtain a certificate.
7. Closing ceremony: The programme ends with a closing ceremony, concluding the entire experience.
8. Certificates: Certificates will be sent in 15-20 working days after programme completion.
