    SC-400: Microsoft Information Protection Administrator is a three-day, intermediate level course looking at how to protect information in your Microsoft 365 (M365) deployment. This course focuses on data governance and how to plan and implement controls that meet organizational compliance needs. To get the most out of this course, you must have foundational knowledge of Microsoft security and compliance technology and information protection concepts. An understanding of cloud computing concepts and Microsoft 365 products and services is also required.

    During this course, you will learn how to implement information protection by managing Compliance Roles, Microsoft Purview message encryption, Sensitive Information Types,Trainable Classifiers, and Sensitivity Labels. You will explore how to implement Data Loss Prevention (DLP) by managing DLP policies, Endpoint DLP, and DLP reports using Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps. You will discover how to plan and implement information governance strategies and manage your content lifecycle for your organization. Plus, you will build skills in configuring retention settings in Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and Exchange Mailbox items, and learn how to regain protected items from Exchange Mailboxes.

    Overall, this course will prepare you for taking the SC-400: Microsoft Information Protection Administrator exam to gain Microsoft Certified: Information Protection Administrator Associate certification. Entry for the exam is not included. However, you will get a clear overview of the Microsoft certification process, plus you will get tips and tricks, testing strategies, practice questions and useful information to help you pass the exam successfully.

    This course comprises four purposely designed modules that take you on a carefully defined learning journey.

    It is an instructor-led course which runs to a fixed schedule, with set start and finish dates. It is driven forward by your instructor and features live sessions that are aired at a set time. You will, however, have time to complete certain activities at your own pace outside of the live sessions.

    The materials for each module are accessible from the start of the course and will remain available for the duration of your enrollment. Methods of learning and assessment will include reading material, hands-on labs, and online exam questions.
