Starting June 2021, role-based and specialty certificates will expire after one year — not two. Certificates earned before June 2021 will stay valid for two years from the date there were earned and are eligible for the new renewal process.

Microsoft will retire certifications from time to time, however, and you may also find exam numbers evolve over time when Microsoft changes the curriculum substantially for the certification.

The renewal window begins six months before your certificate expires. During this pre-expiry window, you can take a free online assessment at Microsoft Learn and get the certificate extended by one additional year from the current expiration date.

This Microsoft Azure Administrator course is completely online, so there’s no need to show up to a classroom in person. You can access your live classes, readings and assignments anytime and anywhere via the web.
